Blackberry gives 35 cents for Haiti

I received a broadcast message in my Blackberry Messenger from a friend
"Because of what has transpired in Haiti recently, Blackberry has
decided to help out and give 35 cents for the cause when you pass that
message along to your friends on BBM"

This is a hoax for sure, how can RIM track down this. Unless there is someone who has reliable source confirming this, I will not forward this kind of message. If you want to help Haiti, it is better to donate directly to those foundations that do real help in Haiti.

Free Wallpaper for 95xx

Some nice free wallpapers for 95xx
These are some examples I take from there

Local App: Domikado ver 1.6.1

Domikado is a local app that provide access to Indonesian Stock Market, Forex, Headlines, Sports news mostly from Local via RSS feeds, Entertainment, Restaurants, Directories and Twitter. You can download it from www.domikado.com via your Blackberry browser.

I installed Domikado few days ago and here are few things I like to point out:
1. You can add stocks to WatchList by adding the stock code. Hit Refresh to get the most recent
For first time, you need to create user that will bring you to domikado site to complete the registration and after you activate the account from your email, you are good to go.

2. Restaurants, you can get phone no, serving time, address, and price range. Very useful I say. But it could be better if it can show in the map

3. You can get TV schedule and also movies schedule from 2 major cinemas. You first start choosing the city, the cinema then it will open the schedule in your browser

4. First twitter app made in Indonesia, nice. It can do what other Blackberry twitter app does, except there is no option for auto-refresh, so you need to do it manually.

Update OS finished

I have just finished the OS update last night, and have time to play with the new OS this morning.
Here are few points from my review:
  • From what I notice, the memory leak is very very small :) (from what the device came from, I used before). Almost full day and my memory still reading 23.xMB with my normal usage.
  • Battery wise, no major improvement, I think (could be biased) the battery stays longer, I think.
  • There is a small issue, not sure whether I'm the only experienced this, the Yahoo Messenger comes with the OS doesn't work. I cannot connect to Yahoo Messenger server. This is easily fixed, remove the Yahoo Messenger and download the newer version. Anyone experiencing the same thing?
  • The OS comes with Blackberry Messenger 5.0.0 so soon after it finished restoring, it will ask for an update to 5.0.57
  • Typing seems more responsive, I can type faster and the OS can keep up with the speed very well
  • Still no support to play Divx codec :(
Anyway, I will update my storm with the hybrid to see whether there are major improvements in the hybrid.
Will post the review later on.
